CEC's Planned Giving Program

About the Selma Rubin Society

A founding Board member of the Community Environmental Council 35 years ago, Selma Rubin is the grande dame of Santa Barbara’s environmental community. Her familiar face and signature hats are well known to dozens of local charities and causes — yet Selma holds a special place for CEC in her heart.

Many years ago, Selma’s commitment to the environment prompted her to make a provision in her will for CEC. Since then, many CEC supporters have followed her lead by joining the planned giving program named in her honor, the Selma Rubin Society. Together, their efforts are helping to ensure that CEC is able to continue its work for generations to come.

How can I follow Selma’s example?

With a small amount of planning, bequests made through your will, life insurance policies, retirement accounts, and other planning vehicles are some of the easiest gifts you will ever make. They allow you to take care of your family’s needs while leaving a lasting legacy to benefit those causes and organizations that you have been committed to throughout your lifetime.

  • Gifts through a will or living trust
  • Gifts with retained income for you or others
  • Gifts of retirement plan assets
  • Gifts of life insurance

If you have already made a provision for CEC in your estate plans

Your sharing this your plans with us allows CEC to recognize your participation in the Selma Rubin Society, and like Selma, helps inspire others to make a long-term commitment to CEC.
