additional resources
In addition to taking action on the steps you've read about here — recycling batteries, reducing the use of pesticides, and properly disposing of household and automotive chemicals — you can help educate others. Here's how:

Distribute Materials
Because a large part of CEC's work involves outreach to the community, volunteers are needed to help distribute information at locations such as Westmont College, UCSB, and the Brook's Institute of Photography. Also, help distribute brochures and used oil collection containers to oil recycling centers throughout the County. If interested, call us at (805) 963-0583 ext. 104.

Attend a Festival
CEC often attends community events such as Earth Day, Cinco de Mayo, and other festivals to hand out literature and answer questions from the public. We particularly need bi-lingual volunteers to speak with Spanish attendees. To get involved, call us at (805) 963-0583 ext. 104.

Help at the Office
Just like any other organization, CEC has plenty of administrative duties. Volunteers are often needed to assist staff with projects such as entering survey data, organizing files, and compiling educational materials. For more information, call us at (805) 963-0583 ext. 104.

Make a Donation
CEC's work to prevent pollution requires on-going funding to keep it active. Your assistance is extremely valuable. Find out how to make a gift to CEC.
